ABOUT US

Functional fitness enhances your quality of life.

At Collective Fitness Kitsilano, we focus on training for longevity. We believe fitness should be sustainable, enjoyable, and programmed to deliver great results without causing burnout. Whether you’re new to exercise or have plenty of experience under your belt, we’ve got you covered.

Our Values

At Collective Fitness, we’re more than a gym – we’re a community focused on lifelong fitness, inclusivity, and quality movement. Whether you’re just starting or advancing your training, we’re here to support you while keeping fitness fun and sustainable.

LONGEVITY

Fitness should set you up for success outside the gym; we believe in movement for life.

COMMUNITY

We bring together diverse individuals who support each other inside and outside the gym. Our members come in pursuit of fitness, but stay for the relationships they forge.

QUALITY

While intensity does have its place, we believe it should not be done at the expense of good mechanics. When we work hard, we must move smart.

INCLUSIVITY

We value differences and respect everyone who walks through our doors.

Fun

At the heart of it all, if it isn’t fun, then why are we doing it?

FYNN MULLIGAN

FOUNDER & TITLE

  • With over 20 years of experience coaching strength and conditioning, Fynn's passion is continuing to apply the latest science-based methods for helping individuals of all ages and backgrounds build their strength, fitness, and muscle to enhance their lives outside of the gym, keep them healthy for the long term, and looking great along the way. Fynn's favourite movement to coach is any squatting pattern – helping everyone to find their optimal positioning to achieve maximal range of motion. He loves chatting all things history and sports (especially the Blue Jays, Raiders, and Canucks!).

NATALIE DURONIO

COACH

  • Natalie has over 15 years of experience coaching functional fitness in both group and one on one settings. She brings her background in competitive CrossFit, martial arts, soccer, and basketball to support our members in building movement proficiency and work capacity, while enjoying the journey. Natalie's favourite movement to coach is the pullup – especially supporting people to build the strength necessary to perform an unassisted pullup. She loves to nerd out about neuropsychology and has a black belt in karate.

Alex Williams

COACH

  • Alex has been a certified strength & conditioning coach since 2010 and a CrossFit L1 coach since 2017. Her main sport is mountaineering, but she also enjoys rock climbing, running, swimming, cycling, and the occasional sprint triathlon. What Alex loves most about coaching is helping people improve their technique, mobility, and strength. She brings energy and stoke to every class – even at 6AM. Her favourite lifts to coach are heavy barbell movements, especially the deadlift. Outside the gym, Alex’s coolest adventure was joining a high-altitude research expedition near Everest Base Camp.

Kellen fo

COACH

  • Before starting functional fitness training in 2017, Kellen competed in Dragon Boat and outrigger racing – sports that fueled his love for teamwork and community. With a background in management, he transitioned into coaching in 2021, where helping athletes achieve things they once thought impossible quickly became his biggest motivator. Kellen loves to coach all forms of the squat, and if you’re ready to dig deep, he’s always up for guiding a Bulgarian split squat. Outside the gym, you’ll find Kellen at concerts, running around the dog park, playing Dungeons & Dragons, or enjoying yet another cup of coffee.

stef atkinson

COACH

  • Stef grew up dancing for fifteen years before venturing into bodybuilding, powerlifting, Olympic lifting, and eventually CrossFit. Although not always a crowd favourite, Stef’s favourite movements to coach are the Olympic lifts, especially the snatch. The best part of coaching for her is having the opportunity to help others realize their potential. Outside the gym, Stef is pursuing graduate studies in Sport Psychology, with a particular focus on trust in the coach–athlete relationship.

Courtney frey

COACH

  • Courtney has always had a passion for fitness, but her coaching journey began in 2019 at one of the first CrossFit gyms in Shanghai, China. She loves to see people progress and finally accomplish a goal they’ve been working toward and finds that to be the most rewarding thing about coaching. Her favourite movements to coach are the snatch and the clean: since they’re so technical, there’s always something to refine, and she loves being part of when it all starts to click. Outside the gym, Courtney works as a makeup artist in film and television. Whether she’s beautifying a face or creating fake blood and bruises, she thrives on the creative contrast her two worlds provide.

POM KLOMJAROON

COACH

  • Born and raised in Thailand, Pom first discovered a passion for fitness through tennis and has spent the past five years coaching, helping others unlock their potential and build strength both physically and mentally. What he loves most about coaching is sharing knowledge and seeing people improve day by day – whether that’s gaining confidence, hitting a personal best, or mastering a new skill. His favourite movements to coach are the clean and the Romanian deadlift. Outside the gym, Pom can usually be found with a coffee in hand, catching up on sleep, or appearing in Thai reality TV shows!

YAS HUTCHISON

COACH

  • With 15 years in the wellness industry – from yoga, Pilates, and meditation to martial arts, strength, and mobility – Yas loves supporting people in reaching their movement goals and helping them feel strong, capable, and confident in their bodies. Her favourite things to coach are cleans, mobility, and anything leg-related . Outside the gym, she’s never met a dog she didn’t love — so if one’s around, expect her to say hi first!

LUIGI DE MARTINO

COACH

  • Hooked on fitness from an early age, Luigi started with team sports before diving into obstacle racing in 2012 and later adding strength and conditioning in 2021. These days, hybrid athletics are his main focus. For Luigi, coaching is pure joy – watching people smash their goals and surprise themselves never gets old. He has a special love of coaching movements on the bar like pull-ups and toes-to-bar, where strength meets skill. Outside the gym, Luigi is usually chasing the perfect Italian-style focaccia and admits he’s unapologetically picky about the ingredients.

MARTIN FISH

COACH

  • Martin has been part of the Collective community since 2012 – first as a member, and now as a coach. He believes health and fitness are key to longevity, and his approach emphasizes balanced training to help people maintain strength, mobility, and quality of life as they age. His favourite movement to coach is the deadlift, where progress in the gym translates directly into everyday life. Outside the gym, Martin loves to travel and makes it a goal to explore a new country each year.

Jocelyn Smith

COACH

  • Jocelyn’s fitness journey started – and has grown entirely – at Collective, where she discovered her passion for movement and coaching. She loves seeing clients surprise themselves with what they can achieve, especially when it comes to Olympic lifting. Outside the gym, you’ll probably catch Jocelyn running either to or from the gym.

David Carenza

COACH

  • David has a diverse background in sport, from short track speed skating and gymnastics in his teens to Olympic lifting and CrossFit in his twenties. He has also served as a reservist in the Canadian Armed Forces for the past six years – a role that demands both physical and mental resilience. What he loves most about coaching is helping people embrace the voluntary struggle of exercise and seeing the reward of pushing through a challenge. His favourite movements to coach are push-ups and pull-ups. Outside the gym, David is a self-described nerd who enjoys video games, history, and tinkering with his hands.

Abbie

BEST DOGGO

  • A true lifelong coach, Abbie has been supervising our classes and greeting members since 2013. Her favourite movement to coach is the ball throw and she prefers the orange and blue rubber Chuckit balls above all others.
